Site 5MF330, NE';, Sec. 11, T5n, R92w, was also recorded <br />as 5MF464. Actually, Dr. Lishka plotted 5MF330 as a single point, <br />nearby. However, the site area of 5MF330, as recorded by CSU, places <br />5MF464 well inside the limits of 5hiF330. Lastly, 5MF331, NE'„ Sec. 7, <br />T5n, R91w, was recorded as 5MF431. <br />Tract 5 <br />Environment <br />Tract 5 is the south and westernmost tract in the project area. <br />It is located in the southern portion of the Axial Basin in Ton, R93w, <br />some twenty miles southwest of Craig. The terrain consists of a series <br />of parallel ridges trending northeast. The relief is not great, but <br />the drainages between the ridges are fairly close together, thereby pro- <br />ducing steep slopes. The major drainages traversing the tract are Wil- <br />son Creek and Taylor Creek. Wilson Creek is a permanent water source and <br />supports a limited amount of cultivation in the bottom of the drainage, <br />while Taylor Creek is a seasonal drainage. <br />The vegetation consists of extensive stands of serviceberry and <br />Gamble's oak with clearings containing grasses and sage. Aspen trees <br />are present on the north-facing slopes, but these are not numerous. <br />Although the Axial Basin is considerably drier than the bulk of the <br />• <br />
