Denver Statement of Qualifications
11. COMMITMENT TO QUALITY
Core Laboratories' objective is to provide scientifically sound, error-free and timely data
reports of documented quality that conform to industry standards and are responsive to
our clients' requirements. Core Laboratories' mission is to practice continual quality
improvement, implement error prevention rather than error correction, and perform each
task right the first time.
At Core Laboratories, the term Quality Control (QC) is used to define specific daily
functions at the laboratory level which include the application of standard operating
procedures and analytical method protocols, use of standard equipment and laboratory
techniques, adherence to statistical control limits, and performance of related
administrative activities and verification. Quality Assurance (QAj is used to describe the
entire integrated program for assuring reliability in measurement and generation of data.
The major components of our QA/QC Process are as follows:
Quali~r Commitment
The Quality Process is a top priority of the President of Core Laboratories and is the
primary mission of the Executive Vice President of the Company. The Quality
Assurance Department is separate from laboratory operations and reports directly to
the Executive Vice President. The Corporate QA Director interfaces with the Quality
Control Coordinator from each of the individual laboratory locations.
Analytical Methodologies
All analytical methodologies selected by Core Laboratories are based on industry
or governmental standards/requirements and adhere to standard methods
whenever possible (EPA, ASTM, ISO, etc.). When standard methods of analysis
are not applicable, Core Laboratories works with its clients to develop an analytical
procedure that is appropriate to the situation.
Sample Custody
All samples are logged into each laboratory's database system (LIMB) as they are
received. Prior to log in, each sampl received is compared to client-supplied
information and its condition upon receipt is recorded. Any discrepancies are noted
and the client is contacted immediately. Chain-of-custody records are completed at
the time of sample receipt and placed in a specific job folder. Sample tracking
records are maintained throughout the laboratory and after final disposition of the
samples.
~~~i
CORE LABORATORIES
