The differences were in the
construction of the primary and emergency spillways.
After receipt of the DMG's letter, the construction of the emergency spillway was
changed so it conforms to the approved design with the exception that the Deer Trail
Ditch culvert is partially exposed in the spillway. The Deer Trail Ditch culvert will not
impeded the capacity of the emergency spillway nor will it handle the maximum design
flow in the spillway.
The Operator is currently working with the DMG and the Bureau of Reclamation (BOR)
to change the emergency spillway so it does not flow into the Fire Mountain Canal. The
Operator believes the emergency spillway's channel can be extended over the nearby
down gradient rail bridge and thus overshoot the Fire Mountain Canal.
The Operator has been in contact with the BOR to determine details of the rail bridge's
right-of-way to determine if it can be used as an overshot. As soon as theses details
are know, the Operator wiH re-design the emergency spillway.
Sincerely,
~ /~y'
J. E.. Stover, P.E.
Consulting Engineer
