Five samples were delivered to our laboratory for analyses of nitrate
nitrogen, sodium adsorption ratio, texture and saturation percentage (ate
accompanying table).
For textuzal analysis. the coarser fragments (>2mm) were separated out
and a hydrometer determination vas performed. Samples 84-2665,-2666,-2667 ~
and -2668 vere characterized .by sandy fragments cemented by very fine par-
titles, and are sandy clay looms. If the coarse fragments are included in
the samples, then they become gravelly clay looms. Sample 84-2559 vas tom-
~osed of ahalier and denser material Chan vere the other samples and is a
sandy silt loam. All of the samples vere lov with respect to nitrate nitro-
gen and exhibited average saturation percentages. 'Ihe sodium adsorption ratios
vere very high, indicating that the salts are primarily sodic in nature, but
the electrical conductivities are relatively lov. `
Respectfully submitted by:
v"`,7~~
Daniel F.
