1
is it examined in the manner required under §75 Subpart D.
' The above notwithstanding, the following actions will be taken to
sample for, and rectify any problems if found, with respect to
' explosivity of the atmosphere remaining in the disposal area:
' 1. Explosive oases other than methane. The requirements of
§75.301-5 through §75.301-8 will be adhered to in the course
' of backfilling the disposal area. Sampling of the atmosphere
in the disposal void will be made from the two bleeder holes
' described above, on a monthly basis. The samples will be
analysed for carbon monoxide, hydrogen, hydrogen sulfide,
acetylene, propane, and methyl acetylene-propylene-propodiene
' (MAPP) as required in §75.301-5. In the event that the
standards for these compounds are not met in a test, the gas
' will be retested. If the failure is confirmed, the voidspace
in the disposal area will be purged with air or other
appropriate gas using the disposal pipe network, until
conformance with the requirements of §75.301-5 is obtained.
' 2. Methane at the seals. Pursuant to the requirements of §75.305
and §75.306, tests of the methane content of the air adjacent
' to the disposal bulkhead seals will be made by a qualified
person weekly, with appropriate recordkeeping and reporting.
3. Methane in the disposal area. The methane concentration in
' the disposal area will be sampled on a monthly basis at the
bleeder vents at ground surface. If the methane content of
' the air in the void exceeds 1.0 per centum of methane, then
the air in the void will be purged using the disposal line as
described above.
lJ
' Adrian Brown Consultants -20- 1145/900820
1
