No sub-surface test excavaeioa was employed.
All related aateriala are on file at the Department of Anthropology.
Fort Lewis College, Durango, Colorado 81301.
RESULTS
Twa sites of historic non-aboriginal occupation were located
and subsequently identified by the designations SGN036 sad SGN037.
SGN036 is located is the SE~~ of Section 16. Features
include two partial structures (Figures 4 and 5) of stone construc-
tion. A third structure may be represented by two burned upright
posts. Ie is identified
by two plank/log constructed buildings (Figures 6 and 7) and the
collapsed remains of a subterranean cellar, fronted by a scone wall
extendiae along the east perimeter of the site.
RECOM"£NDATIOAS
Zt is clear from the historical events related to SGN036 and
SGN037 that neither has local, state, or national historical sigaifi-
coats. Mitigation of impact to both is considered complete upon
submittal of this analysis. However, a concentrated oakbrush
community extends over apprcx'_ra rely 707. of the area proposed For
• 14
