1.04 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. All work shall be constructed, monitored, and tested in compliance with the requirements of the <br />• Construction Quality Assurance Plan (Section 01400.2). CONTRACTOR and <br />MANUFACTURER shall participate in and comply with all items in these SPECIFICATIONS <br />and requirements of the CQA plan. <br />B. CONTRACTOR shall ensure that each geogrid MANUFACTURER that supplies materials to <br />this project has an internal product quality control program that meets SPECIFICATIONS. <br />C. Geogrid rolls that do not meet the requirements of this SPECIFICATION will be rejected. <br />CONTRACTOR shall replace the rejected material with new material that conforms to the <br />SPECIFICATION requirements, at no additonal cost to CC&V. <br />1.05 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING: <br />A. Packing and Shipping <br />I. Labels on each roll delivered to Site shall identify the following. <br />a. MANUFACTURER'S name <br />b. Product Identification <br />c. Thickness <br />d. Roll number <br />e. Batch or lot number <br />f. Roll dimensions <br />2. CONTRACTOR shall ensure that geogrid rolls aze properly loaded and secured to <br />prevent damage during transit. <br />3. CONTRACTOR shall protect geogrid from excessive heat, cold, puncture, cutting, or <br />other damaging or deleterious conditions. <br />4. CONTRACTOR shall ensure personnel responsible for loading, transport, and <br />unloading of geogrid are fully awaze of the consequences of damage to geogrid, and aze <br />familiar with handling and transport constraints imposed by MANUFACTURER. <br />5. Geogrid delivered to the project shall be protected by a relatively impermeable and <br />opaque protective cover, with individual straps for unloading. <br />B. Acceptance a[ Site <br />i. CQA Monitor shall perform inventory and surface inspection for defects and damage of <br />all geogrid rolls upon delivery. <br />2. CONTRACTOR shall unroll and inspect any geogrid roll that may be damaged below <br />surface. <br />3. CONTRACTOR shall repair damage resulting from handling and transport of geogrid <br />at no additional cost to CC&V. If irreparable, in the opinion of CERTIFYING <br />ENGINEER, damaged materials shall be replaced at no additional cost to CC&V. <br />C. Storage and Protection <br />• 1.
