Most importantly, the renewal stated that Sediment Pond #1 and
Outfa11001 as identified in prior permits for this facility would become the responsibility
of the Ewing Mesa #1 aggregate operation. This transition did not occur and Oakridge
Energy, as permittee for the Carbon Junction NIme wishes to re-assume responsibility for
this structure and reporting requirements under the CDPS. Also, the local contact for this
facility has changed as a resuh of the above. Also, I have identified myself in the
modified application as a compliance and permitting contact, having been familiar with
the permitting and operation of the mine since inception. To facilitate the amending of
the permit, I have provided a new application form, updated information regarding results
from the 2002 water year monitoring, updated coiporate information, and revised site and
location maps, incorporating the location of Sediment Pond #1 and Outfa11001.
if you have any questions during the review of this amendmern please contact me at yow
convenience.
Sincerely,
Michael S.
