r

strip cuts cannot be accurately defined in the mine plan. Only a general
• direction of mining can be shown (see Exhibit C). For example, Tract A
cannot be subdivided into separate time blocks, but only the general
southerly direction of mining can be indicated. To define time, phase,
or stage blocks would result in frequent changes in the mine plan
sequence and timetable as demands force the mining to occur in areas
outside the stage blocks. The annual report will accurately show what
was done in the preceeding year.
SEQUENCE OF MINING - Currently mining is being done in Tract C. Mining
will continue in this area for about the next 20 years. The direction
of mining will be up the canyon, primarily on the east side. Some
mining may occur on the west side of the canyon if marketable limestone
is found to occur in this area.
• Tract A-1 will be used throughout the life of the mine but no
mining is planned for this area.
Mining in Tract A will begin in about 16 years. The mining
will begin in the vicinity of the boundary of Tracts A and C and will
proceed in a southerly direction across the main body of the existing
disturbance. Access to this area will be from the north (Tract C) for
the first portion of the term and from the south (Tract B) during the
last portion of the mining. At some point the processing facilities
in Tract A will be moved to the east so the material under these
facilities can be removed. The location of this move, which probably
will not occur until about the year 2030 has not been determined.
Tract B, which contains high calcium limestone and granite
will be mined intermittently beginning about 1985. It will continue
• until the year 2000. It is important to point out that the actual start
of mining in this area as well as the completion is subject to great
P-D-4
