have been used and a date of seeding is available).
• 3) It is our understanding that the soil sample analyzed
by CSU was actually not topsoil but some lower horizon of
subsoil nor is it the growth medium that will be used in revegetation.
To our knowledge no analysis was done on the material that will
actually be used as the growth medium for revegetation. We must have
a soil analysis of the material that will actually be used as
growth medium,
RESPONSE F3. Four samples were taken at the Pikeview
Quarry.
Lab Nos. 775G and 775H were taken from soil in Tract C.
Lab Nos. 775I and 775J were taken from Tract B (ignore the
organic figure as its was probably due to foreign organic material such
as bits of leaf). These samples are close to the eventual plant
growth medium.
_• 4) Apparently the mining operation results in excess fines,
how will all of the fines be handled?
RESPONSE F4. Most of the excess fines will go back on the
site to make up deficiencies in the medium quantities. These fines
are marketable and any that remain would probably be sold.

P-I- 16*
