Where this is not <br />practical and 60 inches of sepazation is lacking, perch management is an option. <br />However, perch management is most successful when other parts of the structure aze still <br />safely accessible to birds. Shown above are various different types of raptor protection <br />device alternatives and their approximate locations. <br />Perch guard devices can be placed on the crossanns to eliminate the possibility of raptors <br />utilizing the structure or only allowing raptors to utilize safe portions of the structure. <br />Insulated Jumpers or covers can be used to protect raptors from electrocution by the <br />phase stingers. <br />Bushing covers and arrester caps also eliminate the possibility of electrocution on <br />exposed pole-mounted equipment. <br />4.18-9 Revision Date: 2/11/05 <br />Revision No.: MR-70 <br />
