1988 to 1992 Permit Renewal
3.1.8 Surface Mining Near Underground Mining
During the time period 1988 to 1991, Trapper Mining Inc. will be conducting
mining activities within 500 horizontal feet of the underground mine workings
of Eagle No. 5 Mine, con[rotled by Empire Energy Corporation. These under-
ground workings, shown on Map M-8, C Pi[ Blasting Plan, are~mos[ly abandoned
roam and pillar mining areas for whicfi an estimated 857, extraction was accom-
plished. No currently-active headings fall within 500 feet of [he planned
blasting area, al [hough during [he permit term [he possibility exists.
Safely of underground workers will no[ be compromised as more than 800 verti-
cal feet separate [he bottom of the lowest mineable seam of Cult Pit from the
highest mineable seam of Empire's underground workings. To insure safety of
underground workers, blasting within 500 feet of the underground workings will
be done during Empire's shift changes when none of their workers are in the
area.
No other aspects of mining activities conducted by Trapper Mining Inc. will
effect [he underground mining operations. No surface water should enter the
underground workings due to [he extensive vertical separation of Che Cwo
mining operations.
•
I 1
L_J
