According to your staff
person working on this application, most of the 2.5 acres to be added is already heavily
disturbed by:past activity, but a small portion of it is undisturbed grass/forest vegetation. Based
on that information, vve suspect that impacts to wildlife will be minimal so long as the disturbed
area is reasonably reclaimed and revegetated. We like the idea of revegetating as miriing
proceeds. The revegetation plan is unclear as to whether or not trees will be replanted on the
site as part of the reclamation. If a significant number of trees, especially aspens, are removed
we suggest replanting some as part of the reclamation.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Dave Weber
Habitat Biologist
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, Greg E.
