(MCC), West Elk Mine, Request for Authorization to
Install Gob Vent / De-Gas Boreholes on USFS Lands.
Deaz Ms. Spear:
MCC is submitting this request for authorization to install gob vent / de-gas boreholes on USFS lands.
The document titled Gob Vent / De-Gas Bore Holes Project Plan, Minor Revision No. 273, was written
to serve two purposes, first, to address the USFS concerns, and secondly, to address the Colorado
Division of Minerals and Geology (CDMG) rules and regulations. The document was submitted to the
USFS on Friday, March 23, 2001 and to the CDMG on Monday, March 26, 2001. This request is
necessary and prudent to allow MCC access to the previously disturbed access roads and sites for
completion of the proposed project.
Please notify me if you have questions regazding this request for authorization and the document
submitted to the USFS.
S~nce aly,
Q ~it~~1r-~
Henry Bazbe
Environmental Engineer
cc:
G.
