<br />the midwestern United States and is the state bird of Colorado. <br />We have listed this species as prime to this area because of its <br />limited range in Utah and northeastern Colorado. We found no <br />Lark Buntings on the proposed coal mine, however, one of the two <br />known breeding colonies in Utah is located in Coyote Basin where <br />the proposed coal transportation corridors would cross. These <br />birds would probably continue use of this area if construction <br />activities, which we foresee as the only serious impact, is <br />conducted after mating, territory establishment, and nesting are <br />completed. <br />In general, on a low to high perturbation scale of 0 to 10, we <br />• estimate impact to Lark Buntings to be 2 to 3. <br />• <br />II.H-100 <br />
