There is a possibility that a few fur-bearing
animals may be trapped along near by Clear Creek. t4ost of the wildlife
takes in a ten-mile radius of the proposed site.
A variety of birds may be found in and around this area, such as the Great
Horned Owl, Red-Tailed Hawk, Cooper's Hawk, and Blue Grouse being the most
common game bird in this area. Also, there is an assortment of common song
birds. Occasionally an eagle will migrate through this area.
Large game animals sometimes pass through this area and are hunted in the
surrounding area. These animals include Mule Deer, Big Horned Sheep, moun-
tain goat and black bear.
At the completion of this proposed gravel pit, there will be two lakes to
be used for recreational purposes, fish and waterfowl habitats, and possibly
as storage for municipal+use. These lakes will greatly benefit the+wild-
life of this area.
The wildlife officer for this region is currently compiling a list of all
wildlife found in this area and their breeding and feeding grounds.
