Exhibit L
Reclamation Costs
EMPIRE PIT
It is anticipated that costs of reclaiming the affected lands will be com-
paratively low since the primary method of reclamation consists of allowing
groundwater to fill the mined out pits.
Approximately eleven (11) acres of land located between Phase I and Phase II
area will not be mined, and will not be under water upon completion of the
mining. This area and the shoreline areas will be the only affected land
requiring topsoil and reseeding. The total acreage involved will probably
not exceed the following:
Operations area
West pond
Shoreline length = 7800'
Reclaim width x 50'
Pasture Area
= 11 acres
= 9 acres
= 13 acres
Total = 33 acres
Assuming an average cost of $500 per acre for hauling and placing topsoil
and reseeding using a tractor pulled seed drill, the total reclamation cost
should be approximately: 33 acres x $500/acre = $16,500
