HYDROLOGIC DATA
r1
LJ
Inflow Design Flood
Inflow design floods for the Minnesota Dam were computed in accordance
with the procedures outlined in the Water Resources Technical Publication
entitled "Design of Small Dams", published by the Bureau of Reclamation,
United States Department of the Interior. This procedure is based on that
outlined in the Soil Conservation Service's "Hydrology Guide for Use in
Water Shed Planning". The resulting inflow design flood hydrograph
represents direct runoff from precipitation in the form of rain over a
water shed having no unusual runoff characteristics. An additional
• quantity of runoff due to snowmelt as determined in a similar water shed
analysis has been included. The following general procedure was used to
determine amounts of runoff.
Preliminary Data
The Minnesota Dam is located in Section 32, Township 13 South, Range 90
West, in Gunnison County, Colorado. The drainage area terminating at the
Minnesota Dam consists of 5.5 square miles of foothill area and cliff area.
Figure 1 Minnesota Dam Drainage Map, illustrates the characteristics and
extent of the drainage area.

VI-9
