Carson and on the Tomahawk Mine, in
particular.
First, please add our enclosed letter to Mr. Barnhart dated November
20, 1990 to the Wildlife Exhibit section. This letter basically
covers CDOW concerns and recommendations as they apply to Tomahawk
mine.
Secondly, I am somewhat concerned that our comments on revegetation
(survival through two growing seasons) will not be attained if
proper soil preparation is not achieved. If adequate top soil is
not available on site, and if soil amendments do not fill the bill,
revegetation efforts will likely fail. If so, revegetation must be
tried again, only with proper soils, amendments, water etc.
On the whole, this plan seems well presented and workable. Please
let me know if this proposal is permitted and to what degree
reclamation is successful. I can be reached at 719-473-2945.
Sincere, -'~~„/~
~'-
Brace Gofo h ~/~
Senior Wildlife Biologist
APPROVED BY:(~ '~
jj__ onald P. esilet
Regional Manager
Enclosure: 1
xc: Dave Clippinger
Ruth Carlson
Ron Velarde
Steve Lucero
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES.
