General recommendations concerning
sites found and not found will follow.
SRT171

This dump, located in the northwestern portion of the project area,
has no potential for subsurface cultural deposits. It is not eligible
to the National Register of Historic Places and no further work should
be done.
SRT172
This small lithic scatter, the remains of which were found largely
in the tracks of a two-track road, has the potential for subsurface
cultural deposits. Ground 'visibility on the site was extremely poor and
it is likely that additional cultural deposits are present on the
surface. As currently known it is not known whether this site is
eligible to the National Register. If subsurface deposits, particularly
subsurface features, are present, this site is eligible to the National
Register of Historic Places. It is recommended that any surface
modification in the area of this locality be monitored by a professional
archaeologist in order to determine the presence or absence•of subsurface
cultural deposits.
General Recommendations
With any type of surface disturbance there is always a possibility
that significant cultural remiana will be uncovered. Because of this,
monitoring of SRT172 which does not appear significant on the surface
has been recommended, provided that impact to the locality occurs.
There are several areas within the project area which are likely to
have cultural remains which are not visible on the surface due to
dense vegetation. These areas include ridge tops and valley bottoms.
Should any land modifying activities occur in these areas,
