999
February 14, 1977
Mary F. Nieters
Chubb/Pacific Indemnity Group
1385 S. Colorado Blvd.
Denver, CO 80222
RE: Corn n Co. bond No. 8057-19-8u
Dear Miss Nieters:
Thank you for your letter of January 31, 1977. Our Assistant Attorney General
advises us that before your bond can be released, either the land the bond
covered must be fully reclaimed or the Gulf Insurance bond must be backdated
to the effective date of your bond. It is the Assistant Attorney General's
opinion that the Gulf band could only cover 'and disturbances from Nuvember 10.
1976 on and not any land affected prior to that data.
/ It is our understanding that Corn is preparing a permit conversion for this
pit. 0;,ce this is approved it will effectively replace a 1 previous bonds
and permits. I am very sorry for el: the delays, but we are bound to follow
the Assistant Attorney General's opinions. Until either the Attorney General
changes his views, or the land is reclaimed, or the Gulf bond •eybackdated, or
the current permit is converted to a 1976 permit your bond cannot be released.
Sincerely,
Mark A. Beifner
Reclamation Specialist
