• <br />2.04 <br />RFACE OR UNDERGROUND MINI <br />2.04.1 Objectives <br />The objectives of this section are to provide for the Division a <br />complete and accurate description of the environmental resources that may <br />be impacted or affected by existing and proposed underground coal mining <br />operations. <br />2.04.2 Responsibilities <br />It is the responsibility of Western Slope Carbon to provide all infor- <br />motion required by Rule 2.04 in the rules and regulations of the Colorado <br />Mined Land Reclamation Board, except where exempted. <br />C <br />2.04.3 General Reouirements: Site Descriotion and Land Use Information <br />This section includes a description of the existing pre-mining and <br />current environmental resources within the permit area and adjacent areas <br />that may be affected or impacted by the proposed underground mining <br />activities. Parts of the following section were adapted from the Final <br />West Central Colorado Coal Environmental Statement (Bureau of Land Manage- <br />ment 1979). <br />Site Descriotion and Land Use <br />The existing land use character of the North Fork of the Gunnison <br />valley is an approximate balance of natural scenery and human development. <br />The predominant land uses in the valley are agriculture, coal mining, <br />~J <br />2.04-1 <br />
