2.03.8 Permit Term Information
•
•
The existing mine will operate in the E Seam through the 5-year permit
term with a horizontal extent of 3,900 feet east-west, 4,600 feet north-
south and a vertical extent of 300 feet from 6,200 feet elevation at the
portals to 5,900 feet elevation below. There is a potential to drive
rock haulways down to the Wild and D Seams (Sections 2.05.2 and 2.05.3).
Production from these seams may also occur in the 5-year permit term.
This mine will utilize nine acres of previously disturbed surface at the
West Portal area during the mining of the U.S. Steel lease and as support
for the East Portal. Additional total surface acreage disturbed during
permit term will be 0.38 acre for the air intake shaft east of the east
portal (Exhibit 2.05.4-E). Within two years, WSC will be mining the Wild
Seam and the D Seam which underlay the E Seam with about 75-foot intervals
between each.
