•
Added 11/21/33
2) An average density of 2,000 shrubs/acre has been
established after the ten year liability period;
3) Two~h n~h ~pP~~es, two perennial cool season grasses and
one forb have been established.
•

The shrub density standard is considered reasonable because
shrubs take many years to become established and 2,000 stems/acre
should_~rovd~._an_adequate_initial_. col.an-i-za.ti.o~s.~oc-k-from-arh-}c-h_
succession will yield a more desirable shrub cover.
The diversity standard was developed by considering the pre-
mine cumulative relative cover provided by each species in the
sagebrush vegetation type. The sagebrush type was used for this
calculation because of its relative importance on the Bourg
property. Eighty-eight percent (88:) of the cover was provided
by two shrubs, two grasses, and one weed (see table 4(bl)).
Although forb species do not provide significant cover at the
Bourg property, they are considered important in a diversified
habitat, and therefore, at least one forb species will be
established.
F-11(a)
