iii iiiiiiiiniu iii • • <br />Rationale for Recommendation for Approval, Over Objections; Regular 112 <br />Construction Materials New Application, <br />Adams County RV Park, LLC, dba 124`h Estates Partners <br />124th Estates Sand & Gravel, File No. M-2001-085 <br />November l3, ?001 <br />Introduction <br />On November 13, 2001, the Division of Minerals and Geology ("Division") issued its recommendation for approval <br />of a New 112 Construction Materials Application, over objections. This document is intended to provide a basis for <br />the Division's recommended approval over various concerns and reasons for objection [o [he 124'h Es[a[es Sand & <br />Gravel Mine, File No. M-2001-085. <br />The 124'h Estates Sand & Gravel application was found complete and considered filed with [he Division on August <br />13, 200]. The site is located approximately 0.5 miles' south of the Platte River in Henderson, Colorado. The <br />property is located in a portion of Section 35 of Township I South, Range 67 West of the Sixth Principal Meridian. <br />The permit area is 34.30 acres in size. The applicant proposes to recover 750,000 tons of sand and gravel over a two <br />year period from the historic mine site. <br />The applicant intends to remove 8 to 14 fee[ of residual deposit before encountering bedrock. The site will be dry <br />mined and material will be transported directly from the site or it will be screened and then transported off site. The <br />pos[mining land use will be a lined water storage reservoir approximately 1,000 acre-feet in size. The pit will be <br />lined with native clay material taken from [he underlying strata and settled fines from the washing operations. The <br />reservoir will eventually be conveyed [o the City of Brighton. <br />I.
