The polyacrylamide could still be applied.
B, Various "matting" materials may be required on steep critical
areas,
C, Ocher suggested practices will be considered.
v. Fertilizer:
A, A11 fertilizer must be in a single rp ell and not a batch mix
of various crystalline sources.
B, Application methods vary ureatly, and all changes requested
will be considered,
C. Hand taking must be to a depth of 3 - 4 inches.
D. Time release fertilizer is generally not required and is very
expensive.
VI. Overall Reclamation Sequence:
A. Slopes may vary from 1:1 to 6:1 and include benching at
various heights. Site specific conditions dictate the
requirements.
B. Where hardpans and tight soils may potentially cause a problem
with successful reclamation over a two (2) year period,
ripping and tillage practices are helpful and affordable
compared to coming bacY, to do the job over again.
While ripping through hardpans, a product such as "Thiosul",
12,0,0,265, may be simultaneously injected to chemically
soften the soil. Incorporation of compost or humate, also
helps.
A brushland plow may be used to break up the upper hardpans,
plowpans, and tight soil ~~hile eliminating weeds and shrubs.
This would also prepare the seedbed and incorporate the
fertilizer. A cultipacker or diamond packer can be pulled
behind the plow to settle the powdery soil down and lessen
drying out,
C. Other fertilizer application methods will be considered.
Fertilizer in hydromulching material is acceptable.
D. Other clodbusting, seedbed preparation implements will be
considered.
E. Seeding methods other than drilling will be considered.
F. All modifications must be proposed in writing to the AO or AOR
for approval.
-30-
