The entire site <br />proposed to be surface mined and reclaimed is within the comprehensive planning boundary of the <br />City of Commerce City. The majority of it is designated as part of the "Open Space, Recreation, <br />Flood Plain" future land use category. Approximately 40 acres along the eastern boundary of the <br />proposed site are designated "Residential" on the City of Commerce City Future Land Use Map. <br />The application materials provided to us for review contained insufficient data for us to provide <br />specific comments. Some of the important items that the information did not address include but <br />are net limited to: <br />- Extent of excavation on eastern side <br />- Duration of the mine operations <br />- Hours of operation <br />- Erosion and dust control measures <br />- Noise control measures <br />- Wildlife impacts <br />- Water quality and wetlands protection measures <br />- Description of the method of conveying the material off-site for processing <br />- Traffic impacts <br />- Sufficient information on reclamation <br />- R.O.W. dedication for the planned future expansion of 104th Ave. <br />5291 East 60th Avenue Commerce City, Colorado 80022 303.289.3683 Fax 303.259.3731 <br />www.ci.commerce-city.co.us <br />
