The small pond near the
office complex was seeded in the fall of 1980 with the same mix-
ture as the area surrounding the buildings, thus details for the
reclamation of this pond are in the next section. The large pond
between the haul road and interception ditch was constructed in
the summer of 1979 and reseeded that fall. However, this pond was
reconstructed in 1980 and was reseeded that fall. This discussion
will only deal with the 1979 seeding because the 1980 treatment
. was the same as the previous section, Interception Oitch.
Implementation
A small portion of the sedin~nt pond bank at the lowest end
of the interception ditch remains from the seeding in the fall of
1979. This area was seeded with the following species:
Western Wheatgrass 6
Slender Wheatgrass 6
Intermediate Wheatgrass 4
Streambank Wheatgrass 2
Pubescent Wheatgrass 4
Sherman Big Bluegrass 2
Smooth Brome 2
Diammonium phosphate was broadcast over the surface previous
to seeding and the entire area was raked,
Management
This area was heavily grazed through the summer of 1980.
Spring fertilization of 120 lbs/acre 30-10-0 was cortpleted in the
spring of 1980.
Results
In spite of heavy grazing, a very good stand of grass result-
ed from the 1979 seeding. Cover is estimated at 70 percent; how-
ever, there is no information m species composition because of
the grazing.
Recormiendations
This area can be considered reclaimed and will need no
further work.
