Several test plots will
be established to determine if successful revegetation can occur
with less than 18 inches of replaced growth medium. BMR reserves
the right to submit a revision to the plan to replace less than 18
inches of growth medium if the test plots are successful.
Exhibit E, Section E.2.1 revised 2/15/89.
MLRD Comment 76.
Response: BMR commits to burying all foundation materials at a
minimum depth of 2 feet.
Exhibit E, Sectioa E.3.6 revised 4/20/89.
MLRD Comment 77.
Response: The West Pit drainage channel as well as the ditches
around the heap leach facilities are permanent ditches. All other
ditch structures and sediment control structures will be reclaimed
upon establishment of successful vegetation on each of the other
facility areas.
Exhibit E, Section E.3.6 revised 4/20/89.
MLRD Comment 87.
Response: BMR will determine the status of the existing upgradient
groundwater monitoring well. If this well is no longer active, then
BMR will determine the viability of establishing a groundwater
monitoring well upgradient on property controlled by BMR. BMR will
establish an upgradient well if possible.
No application change necessary.
MLRD Comment 88.
Response: BMR does not believe that significant amounts of water
will accumulate in the pit at the completion of mining. Therefore,
the West Pit reclamation will be accomplished as presently
proposed. BMR will submit a revision to the reclamation plan for
the West Pit in the event that data collected during mining and
dewatering in the West Pit indicate that the original plan is no
longer appropriate.
No application change necessary.
