Banks and Gesso, LLC
Exhibit G -Water Information
The proposed rock quarry is expected to have minor affects on surface and ground
water systems, as described below.
Surtace Water
There are two unnamed, minor, ephemeral drainageways in the quarry area that will be
affected (by excavation and filling). The drainage basins for these drainageways are
very small and flow volumes are small also (flow only in response to rainfall or
snowmelt). Runoff from disturbed areas will be diverted through sediment control basins
prior to discharge to North Clear Creek. Exhibit B-index Map shows the tributaries and
North Clear Creek and Exhibit C shows the sediment control and drainage diversion
facilities. No significant affects on the quantity or quality of discharge to North Clear
Creek are anticipated.
There are no perennial streams, ponds, springs, or bodies of open water on the permit
property.
Ground Water
The only aquifer present in the permit area is the fractured, crystalline Precambrian rock
underlying the entire site. Ground water can only exist in fractures and openings and
these rock types are typically very poor, non-tributary aquifers. Depth to ground water is
expected to be 400-800 ft below ground surface and the quarry will have insignificant
effect on the ground water system.
There are no registered wells on the property or within 600 ft of the affected area. No
ground water wells will be installed or pumped as a water supply for the quarry. There
will be no dewatering associated with this mine.
Project Water Requirements
The only water requirement for this project is for dust control and possibly for irrigation of
revegetated areas in the early stages of plant growth. All water will be trucked into the
site. No washing of aggregates will take place. The initial estimate of the daily water
requirement is 30,000 gallons per day (e.g. 3-10,000 gallon tanker trucks).
