The water supply <br />consists of natural springs and creeks, ground water from wells, <br />and supplem nted~by irrigation canals. The land also contains <br />several"res>rdences. <br />~ It is 'ur understanding that a pre-conference hearing wil} <br />ccur on or about March 27, 2003. This letter will request that <br />y office b apprised of when that date and time have been fir~ly <br />set and the the pre-conference hearing be conducted in <br />estcliffe, Colorado. It is our understanding that numerous <br />esidents o Custer County and othor land owners hatre a desire to <br />articipate in the pre-con!®rence hearing and thereby express <br />their objection to the application. This letter constitutes <br />notice of formal objection of my client to the above mentioned <br />application. My client also wishes to participate in the pre- <br />conference hearing and to present testimony when the application <br />is considered by the Mined Land Reclamation Board. <br />'~ <br />In the Division's Janusry 2, 2003 letter to Joe Gagliano of <br />LJ Development, Inc., you require that the Division be provided <br />with the source of~legal right of the applicant to enter and <br />initiate a mining operation on the affected land.
