<br />The Mining Plan Map has been modified to show the proposed site of the processing <br />area at the Hall Pit. The modified Mine Plan Map is attached to this letter. <br />5. United must commit in writing to specifically keeping topsoil and overburden <br />separated while in storage. Also, it needs to be stated what kind of seed mix will <br />be used to protect those topsoil areas stockpiled for over one year from erosion <br />and degradation. It is recommended that the same seed mix be used as is called <br />for in final reclamation. <br />United Companies commits to separating topsoil from subsoil during storage. United <br />Companies will seed the soil stockpiles with the seed mix that has been recommended <br />by the US BLM. This seed mix is contained in the Special Stipulations (Exhibit A, <br />Item 18) that are attached to the 2001 Sales Contract. The seed mix consists oF. <br />Species <br />1. A Technical Revision (TR) will be required for the Hall Pit (M-1983-142) to be <br />used as a storage, staging and stockpile area for the BLM Pit. A change of post <br />mining use from residential to rangeland will also be required as part of the TR <br />before the final approval of this permit. <br />Technical Revision # 2 for the Hall Pit is being prepared and will be submitted to <br />CDMG shortly. <br />7. A commitment by United to use an excavator or similar equipment along permit <br />boundaries with slopes needs to be incorporated into the Mining Plan. This will <br />insure a limited impact on those slopes and secure the stated berms from mining <br />activities. <br />United Companies commits to using an excavator or similar equipment to mine all <br />areas near the mesa's slopes. The goal of this commitment is to prevent gravel <br />material being pushed and lost down the slope. <br />8. Text in the Mining Plan states that the Moor elevation will be approximately <br />4980 ft. However, The Reclamation Map shows the primary Floor elevation at <br />4960. Please clarify the discrepancy. <br />The floor elevation is expected to be 4,960 feet. Both the Mining Plan Map and <br />Reclamation Plan Map show the expected configuration correctly. <br />9. The Mining Plan states that two areas may be 20-25 feet below the expected Floor <br />elevation of 4980 and shown on the Reclamation Map. Does this mean the pit <br />
