1 1 . Acid or Toxic Formino Materials. There are no known acid or toxic forming
materials identified in this area. Since all of the materials planned for removal at
this site have been subjected to repeated cycles of reduction and oxidization
during the terms of geological time by the changing water table of the Yampa
River at this location, no concerns with these materials are anticipated.
12. Minimizing Disturbance to the Hydrologic Balance. Immediate disturbances to
the hydrological balance will be controlled by controlling the timing and quality
of waters collected in the dewatering trench. This trench will also act as a
treatment facility for surface waters which originate in the mine plan area.
Specifically, all surface waters from the denuded mining areas will be directed into
this trench priorto anyof these materials be discharged directly into the adjoining
waterways. Potential dust pollution of these areas will be controlled through the
frequency of dewatering and the use of dust suppressant chemicals such as
calcium chloride which will be applied as conditions require.
13. Processing. The only anticipated on-site processing will consist of crushing
and screening of the excavated gravel materials. The proposed location of the
crusher is within the proposed mine pit area as shown on Map 3, Tellier Gravel Pit -
Mine Plan Map.
All existing structures and adjacent property owners within 200 feet of the site are
shown on Map 2, Tellier Gravel Pit -Premining Conditions Map. This map also
shows the location of all existing disturbance within the proposed mine area.
Permit Boundary and Affected Area. The location of the permit boundary and
affected area are shown on Map 3, Tellier Gravel Pit -Mine Plan Map.
Owners. All of the lands within 200 feet of the affected area as shown on Map 2,
Tellier Gravel Pit -Premining Conditions Map. Luke jayand Caroline Tellier own the
surface and gravel minerals within the affected area.
Surface Features. The location of all surface features to be used in connection with
this proposed mining operation are shown on Map 2, Tellier Gravel Pit -Premining
Conditions Map and on Map 3, Tellier Gravel Pit -Mine Plan Map.
Direction of Mineral Extraction. The direction of mining as indicated by the yearly
mining blocks is shown on Map 3, Tellier Gravel Pit -Mine Plan Map.
Man-Made Structures. The location of all existing man-made features within two
hundred feet of this proposed mining operation are shown on Map 2, Tellier
Gravel Pit -Premining Conditions Map. Mining will be conducted within two
hundred feet of the existing property fence lines and the natural gas line as
described in the enclosed geotechnical report prepared by Northwest Colorado
8
