<br />A visual examination of all seams shall be <br />performed. Any suspect areas, breaks, or holes in the <br />weld shall be recorded and marked for repair. <br />' In addition to or concurrent with the visual <br />inspection, the Contractor shall test all seams with the <br />use of vacuum box, air lance or other standard <br />techniques. Details of the method of nondestructive seam <br />' testing to be adopted shal l be submitted to tl~e Engineer <br />for approval prior to its use. Any holes detected in the <br />seam shall be recorded and marked for repair, All <br />repaired areas shall be retested upon completion of the <br />repair. <br />7.3 Leak Detection <br />7.3.1 Geonet <br />7.3.1.1 General <br />Geonet shall be installed as a leak detection layer <br />on the solution pond sideslopes between the two synthetic <br />liners which will be installed in the solution ponds. <br />The geonet shall be overlapped with the sand and gravel <br />' layer which will separate the two synthetic liners on the <br />pond bottoms, as shown on the drawings. <br />' 7.3.1.2 Materials <br />The geonet shall be of an expanded geomembrane <br />product to allow collection and tansmission of solution. <br />The geonet material shall consist of panels or rolls of <br />an expanded polyethylene product with channels :o act as <br />a drainage medium, such as Gundnet, manufactured by <br />Gundle Lining Systems, Inc. or equivalent. <br />L N-25 <br />
