PART I
Page No. 7
Permit No. CO-0045080
~. MONITORING REQUIItEMENfS
1.
In order to obtain an indication of the probable compliance or noncompliance with the effluent limitations specified in Pan
I.A.1, the permittee shall monitor all effluent pazameters at the following frequencies. Such monitoring will begin
immediately and last for the life of the permit unless otherwise noted. The results of such monitoring shall be repotted on
the Discharge Monitoring Report form (See Pan I.E.).
a. Weekly In-sim
Whole Effluen[ Toxicity, Acute Quarterly Grab
Self-monitoring sampling by the permittee for compliance with the monitoring requirements specified above shall be
performed at the following locations: at outfalls 001 through 013, the outfalls from the sedimentation ponds, as shown
in Figures 2 through 5, prior to entering the immediate receiving waters.
If the permittee, using the approved analytical methods, monitors any pazameter more frequently than required by this
permit, then the results of such monitoring shall be included in the calculation and reporting of the values required in
the Dischazge Monitoring Report Form (DMRs) or other fortes as requ'ved by the Division. Such increased frequency
shall also be indicated.
c. Gil and Grease Monitories
For every outfall with oil and grease monitoring, in the event an oil sheen or floating oil is observed, a grab sample
shall be collected, analyzed, and reported on the appropriate DMR. In addition, corrective action shall be taken
immediately to mitigate the dischazge of oil and grease. A description of the corrective action taken should be
included with the DMR.
C. DEFINITIONS OF TERMS
1. 'Acute Toxicity" means there shall be no acute toxicity in the effluent from this dischazge point. The acute toxicity
limitation is exceeded if 1) a statistically significant difference in mortality (at the 9590 confidence level) is observed for
either species between the control and any dilution less that or equal to the identified IWC or 2) a species monaliry in any
• dilution of effluent (including I00% effluent) exceeds 5090.
2. "Composite" sample is a minimum of four (4) grab samples collected at equally spaced two (2) hour intervals and
proponioned according to flow.
3. "Continuous" measurement, is a measurement obtained from an automatic recording device which continually measures
provides measurements.
