<br />EXHIBIT D <br />MINING PLAN <br />A. The topsoil which varies from 6" to 1' will be removed and <br />stockpiled in the northwest area of the pit. Extraction <br />of sand and gravel material will be removed in an east to <br />west direction. <br />B. Sand and gravel material will be removed by ripping with a <br />caterpillar and pushing it into a pile suitable for a <br />front end loader to feed the crusher. As the mining <br />operation moves west across the track of land all slopes <br />will be shaped and the ground smoothed to facilitate <br />reclamation work at the close of each season of operation. <br />C. There will be no ground water or surface water rights <br />involved in the operation. We don't expect to encounter any <br />water table problems as the pit is located on the top of the <br />' mesa. There will be no water required to facilitate this <br />operation. <br />D. The actual area to be mined will be approximately 8.2 acres. <br />E. The total affected area will be approximately 8.2 acres. <br />F. The pit will be operated during late spring and summer of <br />each year. <br />G. The material mined will be for use by the Town of Mancos <br />and Montezuma County for road repair and construction. <br />H. Approximately 20,000 cubic yards will be mined annually. <br />I. Depth of the mined area will vary to a maximum depth of <br />12 to 15 feet. <br />J. Slopes for reseeding will not exceed to 1 ~r less. <br />K. Mine is expected to have a 5 year life. <br />L.
