Conventional statistical analysis methods will be used to evaluate woody
' plant densities on reclaimed areas for both effected vegetation types and
on the reference area for the Ponderosa pine/pinyon/juniper type. Woody
plant density will be measured using 50m x lm belt transects along the
same transect lines. The "t-test" method (Larson, 1980) will be used to
evaluate similarity of woody plant densities between the reclaimed areas
and the corresponding reference area or, in the case of the grasslands
type, the revised woody plant count. If the absolute value of woody plant
density for the reclaimed areas is greater than or equal to that of the
reference area or revised woody plant count (grassland type) for the 90
percent confidence interval, then revegetation will be deemed adequate
relative to woody plant density.
Disposal of Debris. Acid Forming. Toxic Formino and Flammable Materials
EFCI's mining and related activities will not result in production of any
acid or toxic forming materials. The only materials to be placed in
surface disposal sites include development overburden from the portal
• bench and face-up area, and coal processing refuse which is placed in the
C ~
C~IWORRIPRP860df[ffR I5.
