PART I
Page 9b
Permit No. CO-0044776 .
B. MONITORING REQUIItEbIENTS
3. Biosolids Parameters (continued)
e) Records (continued)
(ii) Records of monitoring information shall include the: 1) date, enact place, and time of sampling or
measurements and the initials or name(s) of the individual(s) who performed the sampling or measuremet
2) date(s) and times analyses were performed; 3) initials or name(s) of individual(s) who performed the
analyses; 4) references and written procedures, when available, for the analytical techniques or methods
used; and 5) results of such analyses, including the bench sheets, ins[ntment readouts, computer disks or
tapes, etc., used to determine these results. .
(iii) The permittee shall retain records of all monitoring information, including all calibration and maintenance
records and all original strip chart recordings for continuous monitoring instrumentation, copies of all
reports required by this permit and records of all data used to complete the application for this permit for
the life of the permit. Data collected on site, copies of Biosolids Report forms, and a copy of this permit
must be maintained on site doting the duration of activity at the permitted location.
C. DEFINITIONS OF TERMS
1. "Composite" sample is a minimum of four grab samples collected at equally spaced two hour intervals and
proportioned according to flow.
2. "Continuous" measurement, is a measurement obtained from an automatic recording device which continually
measures provides measurements.
-;r
3. "Daily Mazirnum limitation" means the limitation for this pazameter shall be applied as an instantaneous maximum
(or, for pH or DO, instantaneous minimum) value. The instantaneous value is defined as the analytical result of a~ ~;
individual sample. DMRs shall include the maximum (and/or minimum) of all instantaneous values within [he
calendaz month. Any instantaneous value beyond the noted daily maximum limitation for the indicated parameter
shall be considered a violation of this permit.
4. "Grab" sample, is a single "dip and take" sample so as to be representative of the pazameter being monitored.
5. "In-sim" measurement is defined as a single reading, observation or measurement taken in the field at the point of
dischazge ~ analy2ed in the laboratory within a short period afrer collection, as specified by approved methodology.
6. "Instantaneous" measurement is a single reading, observation, or measuremen[ performed on site using existing
monitoring facilities.
"Quarterly measurement frequency" means samples may be collected at any time during the calendaz quarter if a
continual dischazge occurs. If the dischazge is intermittent, then samples shall be collected during the period [hac
dischazge occurs.
8. 'Seven day average" means, with the exception of fecal coliform bacteria, the arithmetic mean of all samples
collected in a seven consecutive day period. For fecal coliform bacteria, it is [he geometric mean of all samples
taken in a seven consecutive day period. Such seven day averages shall be calculated for all calendaz weeks, which
aze defined as beginning on Sunday and ending on Samrday. If the calendar week overlaps two months (i.e. the .'
Sunday is in one month and the Samrday in the following month), the seven day average calculared for that ca~
week shall be associated with the month [hat contains the Saturday. Samples may not be used for more than o
reporting period. (Not applicable to fecal coliform determinations.)
Amendment No. I Issued ~~-~ ~ Effec[ive
