The general
drainage direction for the area is shown on the pre mining map. The drainage
in the immediate vicinity of the mine is known as Lone Tree Creek and is
ephemeral in nature.
Potable and sanitary water requirements are expected to be satisfied
initially by portable sanitation facilities and the trucking of potable
water. As soon as permitting is complete the domestic water supply will be
provided by shallow wells, in accordance with provisions in the Colorado
statutes which allow substantial landowners to provide domestic supply from
the tributary aquifers.
Water to be used in the wash plant and that required for fugitive dust
cnntrol will be obtained primarily from a deep well into non-tributary waters
a+; the wash plant site. It is likely that this water will be derived from
tl~e Foxhills formation which preliminary geological information leads us
to believe will be reached between 400 and 800 feet. This non-tributary water
is, of course. not subject to allocation regulations. The regulations pertain-
ing to this water depend on the amount of land owned and the productivity of
the aquifer. In this case the entitlement is to one percent per year of
the net yield of the saturated thickness. In the Foxhills formation in this
area it is estimated to be approximately 0.2 acre feet per acre per year. A
rough estimate of the saturated thickness of the Foxhills formation in this
area is 315 feet. Tucker Construction Company currently has under lease
