FROM GREG-LEWICKI
FRX N0. :3033465196 Jun. 27 2004 01:50PM P2
their initiation. It maybe necessary to control weeds by mowing after the first year, the feasibility
of chemical weed control methods will be studied should it be necessary. The plan does not con-
template total weed removal on the property. Past experience shows that some initial weed cover
in the first year following retopsoiling is beneficial to the reclamation effort. Weeds tend to pro-
vide shade for new grasses, aze a means of holding snow on the seedbed longer and protect it from
wind and water erosion until the planted species have taken hold.
4 Reveretation Snccesa Criteria
JUN 2 7 201K
.yFgv~su 1 a
asp.,. ~ ~ 1'
It is suggested that revegetation in the wetland area should be deemed successful when the peren-
nial vegetation is self-sustaining and adequate to control erosion. The dryland areas will be deemed
adequate when the live perennial cover reaches 90% of pre-mine total cover.
To be deemed successful, the cover must equal the pre-mine level. Since considerable new
wetlands will be created, this should not be difficult to achieve.
The wetland areas should be deemed successful when the following has been accomplished:
I } At teast 3 of the planted species are present aad visible in the wetland areas, and
2) At least 75% of the willow clumps designated in the plan are present and viable, and
3) Wetland live perennial cover is at least 80% of what is expected for this set of conditions in the
surrounding area, and
4) The vegetation must be dominated (greater than 50% relative cover) by wetland species and
5) No noxious weed infestations shall be present in the wetland areas.
The revegetated areas will be monitored for success of reclamation until accepted by the Division.
If revegetation failures occur prior to release, an analysis of the site will be made and the area will
be revegetated again as necessary.
Permit#: ,vl-2~y-o2S '~ Confidental?: ~
Class:~e~i.+~,f an~lcL.
