This water is monitored by an NPDES Permit. Siltation has never been a problem.
~ Directing the discharge away from the banks keeps erosion from occurring.
~ See Paragraph 2 ueder Exhibit D - No more than 110 AC will be disturbed without
having the slopes restored and topsoiled. All that is left to do is to cease
{ pumping and the lake is created.
See Paragraph 1, Exhibit D - 25' Min., 50' avg. shore width. Extra O,B. will
~ create islands.
' We have created 3 lakes within a mile of this location in the same alluvium and
soils; within the metro area we have created many more, most of which have been
used by water skiers (they tend to cause the biggest wave action). The few
erosional scarps that have occurred were self-healing, as the material that
slumped off the bank caused a shallows, thus breaking the wave action,
All the disturbed perimeter will be revegetated. The islands will be revegetated
by volunteer growth.
These plans were developed in concert with the Colorado Water Conservation Board
Engineers (See Exhibit "G"). The spillways will allow the historic flood to
continue across the property after storage in the pit is full.
