Our
responses to the numbered dams are as follows:
t . The embankmerrt along the asphalt entrance road has experienced some sheet slippage. The sheet
is aDpr'mdmately one foot deep and occurred last year just Defare the structural analysis of the site. The
slippage is attributed to the unusually long period of rain and the fact that runoff wrdters were not being
divered Into the inside drainage ditch along the road. It Is our thought that the waters can be directed to
the dRch by the Dlecement of a small directional dyke f2 to 18 inches on the road. These materials
could came from the sedimem pond below.
2. The rill erosion in the topsoil storJtpile can controlled by either regarding the slope and seeding it or
by the placement of small check structures in the small channels. this ran.etther Oe perionned wiN a
loader or by laborer.
3. The seepage check dam ran De Dailetl out wAh a backhoe and Me excavated materials hauled up to
the road for construction of a diversion dyke or placed in along a slope and reseeded.
4. Please find enGosed a copy of our Scorn Water Discharge Permit 4COG-500666. If the
landowners are agreeable to our access for these maimenance items we will be able to coned the
drainage. Uean the sediment pond and stabilize the rill erosion.
5. The pipe is approximately 18 inches in diameter and will pass approximately 25 cts. Its installation
was an interim process of the mining to keep the constant spring and early summer Flows out of the
working areas. It will only handle the normal rain falls, larger events overtop the channel and sheet flow
across the teraces to the Wildcat gulch channel below. There are no gullies or visible damage from the
store evems aver the last 15 years or more.
6" This year we are to late to implement a knapp weed raMrol program. This program will have to be
Implemerded next spring or early summer before the weeds go to seed and may have to be performed
on an annual basis umil they are under control.
A Hedland Group comoanY
