Section E16.152 (d) Continued.
•
Portions of Haul Road E will be located on sideslopes exceeding 20
percent. The existing ground will be stepped as shown in Figure
42, Proposed Class I Road - Cut/Fill Section. A11 other Class I
Road embankments will be placed on side slopes less than 1v:5h (20
percent).
The proposed Class I Roads will be constructed of a minimum of 36
inches of compacted road fill topped with 12 inches gravel base and
6 inches gravel surfacing. The road fill will consist of the mine
spoils and most of it will contain less than 25 percent rock
larger than 6 inches and will be spread in successive uniform 12
inch layers prior to compaction. In areas where Energy Fuels has
large fills, some spoil that contains larger fractured rock may be
used which will be compacted to 36 inch maximum lifts in uniform
layers. No lifts will be superimposed on a previous layer until the
design density is achieved throughout the layer. Fill material
• will not be dumped in final position, but will be bladed for proper
compaction.
All material that will be used in the embankment has been analyzed
for optimum moisture content and compaction. The results are shown
on Table 111, Material Properties - Sub grade, Table 112, Paterial
Properties - Road Fill, Table 113, Material Properties - Gravel
Base, and Table 114, Material Properties - Gravel Surfacing.
Moisture content and compaction will be monitored during construc-
tion by the use of a nuclear densometer according to AASHTO T239-76
and AASHTO TZ38-76 respectively.
Energy Fuels will use its own equipment
Roads. The subgrade will be proof comp
unsound material will be removed. Road
• Euclid R-50 rock trucks and Caterpillar
will be spread with two Caterpillar 16G
to construct the Class I
scted and any deleterious or
fill will be hauled by the
657 Scrapers.
