Section 816.111 (a) Continued.
• stands of many of these introduced species have been continuously
grazed since the turn of the century without stand deterioration.
Pastureland and Cropland mixtures
The seed mixtures for cropland and pasturelands are set forth in
Table 97, Proposed Cropland Seed Piixture, and Table 98, Proposed
Pastureland Seed Mixture. They are comprised of largely exotic
plants since the definitions of cropland and pastureland found in
Section 701.5 indicate these land uses have introduced plant
species. The inclusion of introduced plant species into this
mixture fulfills the requirements that the same seasonal variety
occurring on the site naturally be replanted. Planting of native
species into cropland and pastureland areas would constitute a
change in land use as defined in Section 701.5. The reasons for
formulating the seed mixture are the same as those stated for
• rangeland.
The longevity requirements of the species set forth in the mixtures
is described in Section 816.112. All species contained in these
mixtures are currently in wide usage on adjacent croplands and
pasturelands and have been approved by both OSAf and CPILRD previously.
(b) All revegetation shall be in compliance with the plans submitted
under Section 780.18 and 780.23, as approved b}' the regulator}' authority
in the permit, and carried cut in a manner that encourages a ?rompt
vegetative cover and recovery- of productivity levels compatible with the
approved postmining land use.
(1) A11 disturbed land, except water areas and surface areas of roads
that are approved as a part of the pestminino land use, shall be seeded
or planted to achieve a permanent vegetative cover of the same seasonal
variety native to the area of disturbed land.
•
816-139
