This statement describes the gerneral effect of the
operation both during and after mining on wildlife in the area.
Because of the sparse nature of vegetation and lack of any substantial cover, wildlife is limited within the
mineral extraction area. Because of this, impacts to wildlife is anticipated to be minimal. There are no
know seasonal migatory routes that crosses the operation. The most important wildlife habitat area in the
vicinty of the site is adjacent to the banks of Kannah Creek. The mining plan does not call for any
additional disturbance to occure in or around the creek. Information obtained from on site investigations
indicate that the extraction area is, or can be populated by a variety of animal species incuding but not
limited to the following:
GAME SPECIES:
Mule Deer
Desert Cottentail Rabbit
Pronghorn Antelolpe
NON-GAME SPECIES:
American Badger
Coyote
DeerlHouse Mouse
White Tailed Prairie Dog
Misc. Lizards
Misc. Songbirds
Misc. Raptors
ENDANGERED/CRITICAL SPECIES:
The potential for endangered fish exist in Kannah Creek including: Pike Minnow, Humpback
Chub, and Razorback Sucker.
Rev. 09127f04
