Main, Drawer 110
Lamar, CO 81052-0110
RE: Mid-Western Farms Board order
Dear Mr. Lefferdink:
Please find enclosed a copy of the order the Mined Land Recla-
mation Board entered in the matter of Mid-Western Farms. Please
note that the order requires the operator to immediately notify
the Division of Minerals and Geology about any matter which may
impinge on the operator's right to enter the subject property.
This includes any litigation concerning mineral rights.
Also, I hope that you will alleviate any confusion or misunder-
standing about ownership of the mineral rights on the part of the
county assessor's office. I suggest that you provide that office
with the necessary documents showing that Mid-Western Farms is
the owner of such rights so that any type of separate tax assess-
ment by the county to Mike and Stan Hammit will not occur in the
future. I am confident that you will cooperate fully with the
county and the Hammits to resolve this matter.
Sincerely,
CHERYL ~INDEN
Assistant Attorney General
Natural Resources Section
CAL:LMB
Enclosure
cc: Jim Stevens, DMG
