Wildlife use
of the property occurs from a variety of small mammals and birds around the mine site and amongst the
refuse pile of marble. There is some mule deer and elk use above the quarry. Yule Creek, which lies
within the permit boundary, contains brook trout and cutthroat trout. Rainbow trout are found fiuther
downstream To the best of my knowledge, there are no threatened or endangered wildlife species within
the 10-acre site.
The following can minimize wildlife impacts:
1. Use BMP(Best Management Practices)to ensure integrity of Yule Creek
2. Any diesel or fuel storage on site be in a containment to prevent leakage or spill into Yule
Creek
If you have any questions, please give me a call.
Smcere ,
Kevin Wrig41ger
Distoct Wil
Carbondale
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES,Nbde BLWWMX Actip E=X"DYsia
VMLDUFE COMMISSION,Clwck raft.Chw•Mork LeVersr,Vlm-Clre•Bsrwd Bkwk Swmtdry
Meets-Rick Errtum,Metter•Ph*Janet,Menu
Merlseu Raltopascs,Member•Ancld Selemr,Monts•RabW aeoenW .
