Assessment of impact:
Possible impact: to riparian vegdtation along Coal Creek, possible siltation into Coal
Creek, disturbance to animals using Coal Creek riparian area (deer use the drainage as
a travel route and for cover). Possible water quality impacts to Coal Creek (other than
siltation).
Mine Reclamation recommendations (include key speciesJhabitata for which restoration is
designed).
Avid the Coal Creek riparian zone during mining. Implement appropriate measures to avid
siltation/pollution flows into Coal Creek. Acco*mlish appropriate revegetation of dis-
turbed areas, including shrubs in the grassland portion of the site. Create shallow water
areas and gradually sloping banks to encourage waterfowl and other aquatic-oriented wildlife
use.
