You are to be commended for the thorough, clear and concise <br />application package. However, the application cannot be approved until the following few issues are adequately <br />addressed. Please submit a response to the following issues as soon as possible, but no later than June 26, <br />2006 so the decision due date set for July 3, 2006 can be met. If your response, or a written request for <br />extension of the decision date, are not received by June 26, 2006 this application may be denied. <br />ADEQUACY ISSUES <br />Exhibit D -Mine Plan <br />1. Please specify what types of gravel processing will take place at this site. <br />2. Please specify if hazardous materials (fuel, hydraulic fluid, coolant, etc.) will be stored on site and, if <br />applicable, submit specifications for spill containment structure construction and location for all <br />hazardous material containers to be stored on site. <br />3. Please revise the mining plan and map to show and detail any stormwater control structures <br />proposed to treat and regulate stormwater discharge from this site (silt fence, settling pond, etc). <br />4. Please submit a weed control plan to address all noxious weeds that may be found on site. <br />5. Highwall specifications indicate a maximum height of 25 feet though map contours show 30 feet or <br />more of elevation change. Please clarify. <br />EXHIBIT E -RECLAMATION PLAN <br />6. Please describe the highwall reduction process, indicating if cut and fill or full backfill, or a <br />combination will be used to arrive at the final grade. <br />7. DMG recommends seeding the rangeland portion in September for fall applications and, only if <br />necessary, seeding in March for spring application.
