Soils information was obtained from the USDA-Soil Conservation Service (SCS), Canon City,
Colorado. The SCS data aze a compilation of old and recent soil mapping.
In the old gravel pit area, that has already been disturbed, the soil is aIl gravel or rock. The
unaisturbed azea has a layer of topsoil and pine litter appro~mately 0-6" deep at the surface.
